Why AfDB board cleared Adesina for second term as president

  The Board of Governors of the African Development Bank (AfDB) has cleared the bank’s president, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, for a second term. The board, which also declared that it had not asked Adesina, to step aside, stated that there was no basis for that. Its chairman and Cote d’Ivoire’s Minister of Finance, Mrs. Niale Kaba, made the clarification in a statement.
