Feminists have taken to Twitter to attack the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare (E.A) Adeboye over a birthday message to his wife, Pastor Folake Adeboye.
Adeboye, in a birthday message to his wife of over 40 years on Monday, described her as his number one fan who still cooks his meals and serves the food herself despite her busy schedule.
Part of the message read; “No matter how educated or successful you are, your husband is your head and you must regard him as such at all times. It is a terrible thing for a husband to feel his wife is his head.
Unbelievably enraged by this message, Twitter Feminists, however, attack the Nigerian Pastor Adeboye who is referred across the World.
Describing the Message as pathetic, a feminist with Twitter handle @mizshannon wrote: “I just puked in my mouth a little bit. This is pathetic. If you need a woman to act as your servant to make you feel like a man the problem is ALLLLLL about your insecurities.”
Another one with handle known as @Dhissue wrote: “I read the tread and came with a conclusion there’s no affection from this man for his wife, he just sees her as a helping figure whose purpose in life is to fulfill his purpose. Maybe it’s or not her purpose, this shouldn’t be the content of your words claiming to celebrate her.”
@Tumininu wrote: “Is she a wife, a child or a servant. Reading these tweets it seems she has no worth as her own person, her only worth is in what she does to him or for him, in her obedience. I wonder how Oga reciprocates.”
@gothgoof21 wrote: “You only love her because of what she does for you, the minute that disappears you have nothing, God forbid these kind of men.”
Adeboye, however, wrote in the romanric message obtained by Platforms Africa; “Many men are misbehaving in their marriages simply because they want to establish that they are the head of their wives. Also, my wife is my number one fan.
“She wrote in the book Mathematics of Marriage – which we coauthored, that as my helpmate she knows she cannot help me without my instructions, so when they come, her response is Yes sir.
“Busy as she is, she still cooks my meals and serves me herself. Many young ladies these days leave everything to the house help. My wife still trims my nails for me. There was a time when I was a teacher and was staying far from town.
“Anything I uphold, she upholds too. Can your husband rely on you?. Make up for your husband’s weaknesses, celebrate his successes, be his number one cheerleader.
I wish my lovely wife a Happy Birthday.”
