A senior journalist with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mr. Tunde Saiki, is dead.
Chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos Council, Dr. Qasim Akinreti, who confirmed Saiki’s death, noted that the senior journalist died at the Victoria Island, Lagos Office of the Television station on Friday morning.

“Dear colleagues, we just lost one of our members in NTA Victorial Island chapel , Mr. Tunde Saiki .
“According to the text message from the NTA Chapel chairman, Tunde died in the office this morning and his corpse deposited at the morgue,” Akinreti said.
He continied; “I spoke with Deola NTA Chapel chairman. May God forgive him of his shortcomings.
“My condolences to his family and the NTA management.”
Meanwhile, friends and colleagues of the deceased have advised journalists to always think of their health as much as they think of their deadlines.
Becky Madojemu wrote on her Facebook page; “This is a rude shock. A painful passing. Rest in Peace my dear colleague and friend, Tunde Saiki. It is well with your kind, gentle soul.”
Another facebook friend and colleague of Saiki, Amenze igiebor wrote; “Hmmmmm.All must be well!Rest in peace,our dear colleague and friend,Tunde Saiki! It still sounds and feels incredible.”
Mr. Dayo Ojugbele added that Saiki’s death at the office shows that everyone, particularly journalists must take their health with the same seriousness they take their works and their deadlines.
