NIN: Report on Mass disconnection of Phone subscribers unfounded – NCC

  The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has described as unfounded the report that mobile phones’ subscribers would be mass disconnected as a result of the ongoing linkage of SIM Registration Records with the National Identity Number (NIN).   A former Managing Director of the defunct Finbank Plc, Okey Nwosu, has been found guilty and sentenced to three years imprisonment by Justice Lateefat Okunnu of a Lagos High Court in Igbosere for N18 billion theft. The judge handed down the verdict after she found the former bank boss and three other Directors of the bank guilty of stealing the huge sum from Finbank Plc. US bars bushmeat imports from Africa, Seizes smoked bats, others from Ghana

  The United States (US) Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has barred importation of bushmeat from Africa. The agency stated this as it seized nearly nine pounds of banned “bushmeat” from a passenger who arrived on a flight from Ghana on Sunday at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. The passenger, a US citizen, declared the bushmeat (a term for a range of wild animals, including primates, bats, civets and African rodents) to an agriculture specialist at the airport. The Deputy Governor of Lagos State Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has lost his half brother, Dr. Haroun Hamzat, 37, to COVID-19 complications.   The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has revealed that 731 members of Batch B National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) have tested positive for COVID-19.
