Nigeria’s power utility investor, Ikeja Elctric, publishes contact details of all business managers, gives reasons for action
One of the major electricity utility firms that connect Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, to the national grid, Ikeja Electric (IE), has deepened the billing transparency for its customers as it officially launched a Mobile Application (App) to expose their tariff classes and payments history, among others.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ikeja Electric, Mrs. Folake Soetan, who led the team of IE managers at the launching of the App at the headquarters of the utility firm in Ikeja, Lagos, added that this innovation would also publish names of all the companies business managers and aid the customers’ quest to report power outages and by-pass.

The App know as the ie mobile, Soetan said, “will also assist the “new connection request, new meters and activation token for customers.
“Asides these, the ie mobile will allow the customers to access their previous bills and payment history.
“These, which we see as the continuation of our transparency will also give clear access to our customers, the contact details of all our business managers as well as their tariff classes,” she said.
In all, the App goes in line with the “customers first, technology now,” mantra of the Ikeja Electric.
She continued; “We want to take the service to our customers. We expect them to do a lot without coming physically to the office. This has been the request of our customers.
“It is to show that we listen to our customers and that we are ready to do more to make their expeeience a worthwhile with the Ikeja Electric (IE).
“It is for quality customer Service. To increase traffic to the online platforms in line with the company’s vision of ‘customers first, technology now, mantra.”
