Gunmen have opened fire at traditional rulers meeting in Imo, Southeast Nigeria, killing at least five persons.
The meeting held at the Njaba local government area of the State, Platforms Africa reports, has was attended by top traditional rulers.

Though details of the attack remain sketchy as at the time of filing this report, at least five traditional rulers are believed to have died during the attack while several others have been injured.
Imo has witnessed high rate of insecurity in revent past with the killing of top politicians and government functionaries.
“We couldn’t believe this insecurity would degenerate to this level where fire would be freely opened on a meeting of our traditional rulers killing them like chickens. With what happened today, no one is safe here in Imo,” a resident of Njaba, Titus Anyanwu, told Platforms Africa.
He called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governor to come to their rescue and nib the high spate of insecurity in the bud.
