The Lagos State Government has removed the General Manager of the state Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Mr Gbolahan Oki, for an independent panel to probe allegation of corruption against his agency, which was allegedly blamed for the collapse of the 21-storey building in the state. The building collapsed on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi. occurred on Monday, 1 November, 2021. Armed men suspected to be bandits on Tuesday morning stormed the Senior Staff Quarters of the University of Abuja at Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, abducting four staff including Professors and their xhildren.
