Colleagues, relatives speak about last moments of the comic star, Babatunde Omidina, who suffered a partial stroke since his ordeal with the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) ten years ago
Veteran Nollywood comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, fondly called Baba Suwe, died on Monday after a decade of pains from partial stroke.
Platforms Africa reports that Omidina, who passed on early Monday (today) at the age of 63, suffered the partial stroke since his ordeal with the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) ten years ago.
His death was confirmed by his son Adesola Omidina, on his official Instagram page @Omo_Omidina.

“This is to announce the sudden death of my father Mr. Babatunde Omidina. The legend and rare gem “ Babasuwe ° Other details will follow shortly! May your soul rest in perfect peace Dad,” Adesola said in the post.

The National President of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Practitioners (ANTP), Adewale Elesho, also confirmed his death saying it was true that Baba Suwe is dead.
“I’m in Ibadan as I am talking to you but I received calls from our people in Lagos trying to conform his death which I also made enquiries about. I can confirm that Tunde has gone back to the maker,” he said.
Governor, TAMPAN, Lagos State, Chief (Mrs) Esusu, also confirmed that Omidina passed away on Monday morning.
She described the late actor as an outstanding stakeholder in the association.
Meanwhile, details have emerged on hiw the veteran actor begged for financial help during his sickness but received little or no help from colleagues and fans.
The veteran actor, who was in urgent need of medical attention and currently seeking financial assistance to enable him travel out for treatment couldn’t get the much needed assistance, Platforms Africa reported.
Although it was reported that some of his colleagues have come to his aid and already putting resources together to help him get treatment for his ailment.
His appearance as seen in a gathering recently with his colleague, Dele Odule showed he’s not okay health wise.
One of the actors that visited him, Jigan Babaoja shared an update on his social media as well as a photo of himself giving Baba Suwe some money.
He wrote:”He needs medical attention in the USA ! After my discussion with him he needs to renew his passport and want to go to the USA where he normally receive his treatment.”
