16 Year-Old WAEC Candidate Diagnosed with Brain Tumour, Parents Crave Help

The parents of 16-year-old Feranmi Aladegbonmire have sent a save our soul (SOS) appeal to good-hearted citizens to help save the life of their son who was diagnosed with brain tumour in October 2021.

Platforms Africa reports that Feranmi showed signs of serious ailment while writing his West Africa Examination Council (WAEC).

A statement from his parents sent to Platforms Africa, added that the 16-year old Aladegbonmire, shortly after his WAEC at the Staff Secondary School, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), was diagnosed with brain tumour.

“His parents have been moving him from different hospitals to save his life while he is currently in coma and on oxygen for over a month at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

“In fact, he spent his last birthday on November 21 on the sickbed,” the statement read.

The family, the statement continued, said “there is need to move him to the intensive care unit (ICU) to try and stabilise him before the treatment of the tumour through chemotherapy.

“It also said it needs N2 million urgently to return him to ICU and an additional N8million for permanent treatment in India.
