Hours After Platforms Africa Exclusive, Police Begins Nov Salary Payment

The Nigerian Police Authorities have begun payment of November salary to the officers and men of the Force, less than 24 hours after Platforms Africa published an exclusive story on the delay in the payment.

The story headlined; EXCLUSIVE: Why 371,800 Nigerian Police Officers’ November Salary is Delayed,” reads; “The Nigerian Police Authority has given reasons the November Salary of the Force is delayed, a situation that has subjected about 371,800 officers and their families to harsh economy.

The signal

In a Police Wireless Message from the Force Headquarters, which was exclusively obtained by Platforms Africa, the Force declared that the delay in payment of the salary was caused by “delay in processing of funds by the Federal Ministry of Finance.”

Platforms Africa reports that the Wireless Message popularly called signal, titlled: “Salary Arrangement,” with number CV/3940/PB/FHQ/ABJ/VOL 45/8 and sent to all the Police formation across the country, noted that the Inspector General of Police (INGENPOL) “appreciates the sacrifice and dedication of personnel of the force.”

The memo reads in part: “Information received from IPPIS unit of the OAGF indicates delay in processing of funds from the federal ministry of finance for payment of November 2021 Salaries, which implies that there will be delay in the payment of November 2021 Salary.

“The Inspector General of Police (INGENPOL) “appreciates the sacrifice and dedication of personnel of the force. He (IG) is therefore making frantic efforts to ensure that the delay is minimized.

And for Assistant Inspector General of Police in the zones, the commissioners of Police, the “Inspector General of Police directs you to make it a subject of lecture to officers and men. Treat as urgent and very important.”
