ACHSO 97 Set of Students reunite in School with pomps and pageantry 24 Years After Graduation
The Area Community High School Owode (ACHSO) has been named a model school in the Yewa division of Ogun state, Southwest Nigeria.
Platforms Africa reports that a former vice principal of the school, Alhaji Musbaudeen Akinbo, declared this at the 24-Year Reunion of 1997 set of students of the school in Owode, commercial nerve cenre of Yewa South Local Government Area, just as a Permanent Secretary in Ogun state, Barrister Segun Olaotan, charged all old students groups to take a cue from members of the 1997 set for their top-notch approach, mobilisation and unity in staging a come-back to the school which they left 24 years ago.
Delivering a short address on importance of reunion and giving back to ones Alma mater, Olaotan charged everyone who has passed through the school, which was established and has been producing leaders since over 40 years to start giving back to their secondary school.

Pouring eulogies on the 1997 set for their commitment and exceptional determination to reunite and support their Alma Mater, Olaotan, an old student of the school, charged the National body of the school’s old student’s association to collaborate with the set in delivering various projects for the school.
Corroborating Olaotan’s view, Alhaji Akinbo maintained that the state of the school which has now being named a model school, should be far better due to caliber of people it has produced since over 49 years of existence.
“It is not too much if this school has been turned to a University giving the number of years it has figuratively been serving as a factory where great men have been manufactured,” he said.
The reunion was attended by members of the 1997 set who came with members of their family from across rhe country, their old teachers, executive committee members of the National old student’s Association of the school and dignitaries from far and near.
The students who adorned beautiful attires in blue and white colour of the school also shared memories, contacts, amidst pomp and pageantry, at the event where teachers and some old students were given special awards for their services and contributions towards the development of the institution.
Awards were given to some prominent members of the set as well as some of their teachers who taught them various key subjects 24 years ago.
The teachers who were honoured include Alhaji Musbaudeen Akinbo (Baba Yoruba), Deacon Richard Fajore (Fine Art Teacher), Mr. Akinola (Economics Teacher); Mrs Funmilayo Mobolaji (Biology Teacher); Mrs Borokini.
Barrister Olaotan and other old students including MD/CEO, Blessed Clinic and Maternity Home Doctor Yusuff Olalekan Agbomeji, CEO/Technical Director at Divine Grace World of Technology, Prince Peter Ilesanmi Peter; Coordinator of 1997 set, Imaam Tesleem Egbeyemi; Chairman Reunion Committee, Prince Omogbolahan Adeleye, Mrs Oyesanmi Oluyemisi nee Olaseni; Mrs. Sola Bolanle Atoke, Mrs. Eunice Mofunnaya among others were also honoured at the event where cash donations and projects were announced for the school.
