Sultan, Kukah condemn “barbaric, ungodly” act Some students of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, on Thursday, lynched a female student, identified simply as Deborah, over an allegation of blasphemy against Muhammed, a prophet of Islam. The deceased was violently stoned to death and later set ablaze by the angry mob, who are mostly students of the college. The college authorities immediately announced the closure of the school and ordered students to vacate the campus. Iconic Nollywood actor, Gbenga Richards, has reportedly passed away on Thursday morning, 12 May, 2022 after battling an unknown ailment. The once vibrant actor, who was a force to reckon with in the 1990s and early 2000s, according to reports suffered from a series of ailments and raising money for his treatment became difficult because he had fallen on hard times. A TVC correspondent in Maiduguri, Jesse Tafida, has lost his wife, Mercy IIiya, just 12 days after their wedding. The couple got married on Saturday, April 30th in Maiduguri, Borno State. Uganda said it acquired land for the construction of East Africa’s first nuclear power plant as the continent’s top exporter of coffee beans attempts to expand its electricity generation capacity multi-fold.
