Omo Baba Tisa: Famous Broadcaster Is Best Newscaster Of The Year

Famous broadcaster in Southwest Nigeria, Adeyinka Adegbite, popularly known as Omo Baba Tisa, has won the 2022 best newscaster of the year award.

Platforms Africa reports that Adegbite, a graduate of the prestigous department of Mass Communication, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (Abeokuta) won the award at the Excellence Recognition Award 2022 held at basic trust international event center, Okelewo, Abeokuta, capital of Ogun state.

A former commissioner of Art and Culture who was also the chairman of the occasion, chief Olu Odeyemi presented the award to the Adegbite whom he described as the ”finest” broadcaster.

Odeyemi lauded the winner for his promotion of professionalism particularly his efforts at making indigenous Yoruba language admirable to many.

Adegbite, an indigene of Ajilete in Yewa South Local Government had his secondary school education at Area Community High School Owode (ACHSO) where he was the social Prefect Boy.

Though he shappened his communication skills at MAPOLY Mass communication department, Platforms Africa reports that Omo Baba Tisa began to be a shinning light in newscasting and broadcasting about 25 years ago at Area Community High School.

He was a known face at Quiz and Debate competition around 1994 and 1996 in the whole of Yewa South Local Government and Ogun State, where he usually cast mock news better known as “Iroyin Kayefi.”

The fate took him to Ogun state Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) where he, alongside Morufu Omo Odo Agba, became a popular voice on Koko Inu Iwe Iroyin.

He has, since then, become a force and a voice to reckon with in broadcasting in the whole of Southwest Nigeria.
