80 Women, Children To Benefit As Cititrust Holdings Donates N1.65m to HEI

Fund is to be used for treatment of non-chronic diseases such as malaria, typhoid fever, meningitis, sepsis,  tetanus, malnutrition,  diarrhea,  jaundice,  one off blood transfusion, across Lagos State public health institutions – HEI

CITITRUST Holdings Plc, a leading financial institution with presence in over 11 countries in Africa, recently donated N1.65million to Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) to assist 80 women and children with non-chronic diseases such as malaria, typhoid fever, meningitis, sepsis,  tetanus, malnutrition,  diarrhea,  jaundice,  one off blood transfusion etc. across Lagos State public health institutions.

HEI is a credible NGO that has assisted and brought succor to more than 1,100 indigent and vulnerable patients and accident victims across Lagos and beyond. It is also a recipient of Best Supporting NGO Award from Lagos State Health Service Commission.

The duration for this project is 3months with target to reach 80 beneficiaries across at least 10 public hospitals in Lagos.

As a responsible Corporate Citizen, CITITRUST Holdings Plc is keen to touch the lives of Nigerians and connecting with their pain points through this humanitarian initiative.

According to the Group Chief Human Resources, Tiyeyosi Femi-Raji, “recent reports that 1 out of 5 children born in Nigeria do not see their 5th birthday is alarming and potentially constitutes existential threat to oncoming generations”. She stressed that urgent and broad-based action is needed by all to address this malady, encouraging other corporate organizations and public-spirited Nigerians to partake on this sojourn for a formidable health institution.

In his own comments, Executive Director of HEI, Mr. Paschal Achunine, thanked the management of CITITRUST Holdings Plc for their ” unrelenting support for the social well-being of Nigerians”.
