‘How Female Journalist Raheemat Momodu Slumped During Meeting, Died’

She was not sick. She was in the middle of a meeting when the worst happened, colleague, Editor recount pity-evoking last moment of National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) ex-Chair, Raheemat Momodu who died about 48 hours after the death of another Nigerian journalist and columnist, Michael Awe aka Michael West.

A popular Nigerian female journalist, Raheemat Momodu is dead.

Momodu’s friend and colleague, Joke Kujenya, who broke the news via her Facebook wall, gave an account of how the former National President of National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) died on Tuesday, 14 June, 2022.

She was reported to be having a meeting when she slumped and feared died. She coulda make it to the hospital where she was being rushed to.

For me, the question is “what happened to Raheemat Momodu”  An ever-smiley vibrant lady, a core professional Goodbye pleasant soul.

“These deaths are just becoming too much on us in the media industry. At the weekend, it was columnist, #Michael #Awe aka #Michael #West. We’re barely over shedding tears on his sudden exit; now this.

“According to her former editor, she was attending a meeting, slumped and didn’t make it alive to the hospital at about 2.00pm today .

“Just like that, Raheemat Momodu is no more.”

The news of Momodu’s death has ricked the Nigeria’s media space with many of her colleagues extolling her virtues.

“She was not sick. She was in the middle of a meeting when the worst happened,” another colleague of Momodu, Ebun Yusuf, said while corroborating Kujenya’s statement.
