BREAKING: FG Confirms Dr. Mikhail Akinde As 6th Rector Federal Poly Ilaro

From Clerk to Rector: Grass to grace journey of Akinde, who, as a small boy, was following his late father, a newspaper vendor, to the polytechnic to supply newspapers in early 1980s.

 

The Nigerian Government has confirmed Dr. Mikhail Akinde as the 6th Rector, Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Southwest Nigeria.

Platforms Africa reports that Akinde got the letter of his appointment from the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, in Abuja.

An alumnus of the school, Akinde, until his appointment, was the Dean, School of Management Studies of the Polytechnic.

“The announcement was made in Abuja today by the Honourable Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu in the presence of the Governing Council Chairman of the institution, Dr (Mrs) Veronica, E. Ogbuagu, another member of the Council, Mrs Iyabo Amodu as well as the wife of the new Rector, Mrs Adenike Akinde.,” Platforms Africa reports.

Dr. Mikhail Akinde is an indigene of ilaro Ogun and the 6th Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro.

reports that the new rector has first contact with the federal polytechnic ilaro as a small boy who was following his father, a newspaper vendor late Mr. Surakat Akinde Olagoke Sewele Aguro of ilaro, to the polytechnic to supply newspapers in early 1980s.

“He started as clerk in the bursery unit between 1987 – 1989. He returned to school between 1990 to 1994 and became instructor in 1999 and a chief lecturer in 2015,” Platforms Africa reports.
