The Editor of The Guardian on Sunday, Kabir Alabi Garba, has successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Freedom of Information Act (2011) and Print Media Coverage in Nigeria” at the premier Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos.

Platforms Africa reports that Garba, an experienced and cerebral Journalist, added to the growing list of professional Jounalists In Nigeria who have bagged the highest academic degree in communications.

Confirming the success story in an update sighted by Platforms Africa, Professor Ismail Ibraheem of the department of Mass Communications UNILAG, who doubled as Garba’s supervisor, congratulated the latest scholar for meeting the requirements.

Brilliant, cool and unassuming, the Oluponna, Osun state-born journalist is one of the most experienced staff at the Guradian newspaper. .

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, the immediate past Chairman, The Guardian Chapel of NUJ and Editor, The Guardian on Sunday, Alhaji Kabir Alabi Garba successfully defended his doctoral thesis.

The defence was witnessed by External Examiner, Prof Eserinune McCarty Mojaye and the Chairman of the Oral Defense Panel, Associate Professor Sola Alabi.

Brilliant, cool and unassuming, the Iwo, Osun state-born journalist is one of the most experienced staff at the Guradian newspaper.

He started his education at District Council School, Oluponna, Osun State, 1974 – 1980.
