How Son Killed Ex-Military Officer Father Over Retirement Benefits

 

 

The suspected yahoo-yahoo son has engaged in a quarrel with father, a popular ex-military officer in Ejigun, Ota, over his alleged refusal to give him N1.5 million share from his (father’s) retirement benefits

 

Details have emerged on how a retired military officer, Lieutenant Commander A H Yusuf was reportedly murdered by his son over bickering on the retirement money.

Platforms Africa reports that the incidenr occurred at Ejigun community in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Accorsing to eyewitnesses account, Yusuf’s son, alleged to be a yahoo-yahoo boy, demanded for a sum of N1.5 million from his retirement benefits, a request the late Yusuf rejected.

“Angered by his father’s refusal to give him a share of N1.5 million from his retirement benefits, the son allegedly killed his father in the early hours of Wednesday, 21 December, 2022,” one of their neighbours told Platforms Africa when our Reporter visited the community.

“He was apprehended at their residence located here at Ejigun community, very close to Ayobo but in Adoodo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State,” she added.

The members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) stationed in the community arrested him and they have handed him over to the police at Itele Police Division.

Neighbours described the deceased as a gentleman and an easily accessible man.

“He played and joked with everyone. I saw him last at the mechanic workshop. We both patronised the same mechanic. He brought his car for repainting. Up till now, the car is with the mechanic.

“He never returned alive to pick the car,” a neighbour said noting further that the mechanic has vowed to repaint the car to the colour he required seeing this as his last wish even though he couldn’t pay before his murder,” another neighbour added.

Meanwhile, the corpse of the deceased has been deposited at mortuary for autopsy before it will be released for interment.
