Nasarawa Gov Loses Son, Hassan

The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has lost his son, Hassan Sule. It was gathered that the governor’s son died in Lafia in the late hours of Thursday, January 26, 2023. The deceased who got married to his first wife, Hajiya Sule, in June last year was Governor Sule’s eldest son. Hassan aged 36. This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Lafia on Friday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra. Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has described the judgement of the governorship tribunal as ” a miscarriage of justice”, vowing to challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal. Reacting to the verdict of the Tribunal in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Rasheed Olawale, Governor Adeleke faulted the resolution of the over-voting question in favour of Mr Oyetola, calling it ” an unfair interpretation against the will of majority of voters”. The Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo has sacked Governor Ademola Adeleke as the duly elected governor of the state. The tribunal in a split document of two to one declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Adeleke and issue the same to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola The majority judgement which was read by the Chairman, Justice Tertse Kume said Oyetola scored the majority lawful votes of 314,931 against Adeleke’s 219,666 The minority judgement is ongoing Details later……

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has re-arrested a former Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Adedibu Ojerinde, on Thursday in Abuja. Police Confirm Alleged Killing Of 27 Pastoralists In Airstrike

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the killing of 27 pastoralists in an airstrike in Doma Local Government Area of the State. DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Command’s spokesman, confirmed this and casualty figure to the News Agency of Nigeria.
