Australia has announced that it will ban the popular social media app TikTok on government devices due to concerns over national security. Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus stated that the decision was based on advice from intelligence agencies and would come into effect “as soon as practicable”. A final-year student of University of Benin simply known as Desmond was on Monday shot dead in his room at the Hall 3 Hostel by unknown gunmen in what appeared like a cult-related incident. : President Muhammadu Buhari has, through the Nigerian Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, barred illegal online banks as he approved 173 digital lending applications to operate in the country. Of the 173, 119 have full approvals and 54 have conditional approvals.
