Abducted Nasarawa Ex-Deputy Gov, Gye-Wado, Regains Freedom

The former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State Professor Onje Gye-Wado has been released by his abductors after N4m ransom was paid. Gye-Wado was abducted last Thursday at his country home, Rinza, near Wamba, the headquarters of the Wamba local government area. It was gathered that a ransom of N70m was demanded by the abductors but Gye-Wado’s family negotiated from N2m to N3.5m before eventually settling for N4m. Adeshina Olayinka, popularly known as Khadi, an Instagram cloth vendor, has been found dead at a hotel in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State. On social media, Olayinka was known for her designer clothing and bags. JAMB Fixes New Date For 2023 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new date for the commencement of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), which will now start on April 25, 2023, instead of April 29, 2023, as earlier scheduled. The announcement was made by the board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin in Abuja on Sunday.
