Nollywood Veteran Actor, Mukail Adedigba Alaafin Oro, Is Dead

Veteran Yoruba actor Adedigba Mukail known by his stage name Alafin Oro has passed away.

Alafin Oro’s demise was announced on Saturday by her first daughter, Barakat Adedigba in a telephone call with Platforms Africa.

“He proclaimed the oneness of God. His last statement was Kalimat Sha’adah,” Barakat said.

Alaadin Oro who died in his home town, Ibarapa, in Oyo stare has been sick for some days. He was taken from his Lagos home to Ibarapa on Friday and he died about 24 hours after.

Fellow actor, Kunle Afod, also announced the death of Adedigba.

Afod expressed his sadness at the loss of a great philosopher and icon with extensive knowledge of Yoruba culture.

“R.I.P Adedigba. We will surely miss you. We drank from your River of knowledge, we know how important you are,the sad news this morning really broke my heart @alafinoro1 sun re ooo,” Afod wrote on Instagram.

In another post, Afod said: “Another library is burnt down today. A great philosopher. An icon with so much Yoruba knowledge. A lover of God @alafinoro1. You departed this sinful world early hour of today. May your gentle soul rest in peace.”

Other Nollywood stars have also taken to social media to mourn Alafin Oro.

Kemi Afolabi, on her part, said: “Phew! Rest in peace sir. Death a debt everyone owes and must pay.”

May his soul RIP.” Yomi Fabiyi wrote in the comment section.

Yinka Quadri, Madam Saje and many others also commented on Afod’s post.
