President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been urged to release the eight months’ salary arrears of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) withheld by former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. In 2022, the ASUU embarked on an eight-month strike over the non-implementation of their demands by the federal government. Idiroko Border Reopened Since, Customs Clears Air

The Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, Bamidele Makinde, on Tuesday, cleared the air over the reopening of the Idiroko border in Ogun State. Makinde said the border had been reopened since last year, contrary to a viral video which showed some residents of Idiroko jubilating over the border reopening. The House of Representatives, on Tuesday, warned the Federal Government against terminating the contract signed with a private firm, Iris Smart Technologies Limited, for the production of electronic passports booklets. According to the House, procuring the equipment capable of putting the latest security features in the Nigerian e-passport will cost the government about N22bn. EFCC Arraigns Two Bankers For N20m Theft

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Tuesday, arraigned two bankers, Freeman Jacob and Umar Abdullahi before Justice Simon Akpah Amobeda of the Federal High Court, Kano on a three-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
