Abimbola, widow of the late renowned Professor of communication , Lai Oso, has declared that she did not know how she would cope with the “terrible loss” of her husband.
She said this in an interview at the Sagamu home of the Osos where mourners have been thronging since Platforms Africa broke the news of the communication scholar’s death on Saturday..
Profesaor Oso, Platforms Africa earlier wrote in a viral report, died in an auto crash at Ijebu-Ode axis of the Ore-Sagamu expressway when the vehicle conveying him from Delta State plunged into a river on Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was coming from Delta State University where he was an external examiner.
His remains has been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital.

Reacting to the death of her husband, Abimbola who described Lai as a giver, maintained that the Professor was, out of the kittle he had, paying school fees for some indigent students in Universities, secondary and primary schools.
“A husband, father, mentor, an humble man, respective, a giver. At times when he dashes out money, I will ask him why did you give out money that is not even sufficient for us? His response has always been that let’s help humanity, the Lord will replenish us.
“He was paying the school fees of so many children at the University, in Secondary school, and primary school. Now, I don’t know how I am going to cope,” Abimbola, who is popularly called Mama Oso, said in tears.
Meanwhile, the remains of late renowned communication teacher will be buried on July 14, 2023.
The Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) International, where the late communication scholar was a pastor while he was alive, made this known, declaring that the interment would take place in Sagamu hometown of the deceased.
The General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Apostle Lawrence Achudume who announced the burial rites, added that the programme would start on July 13, while the corpse will be interred on July 14.
Achudume accompanied by his wife Rev (Mrs) Fola Achudume had earlier paid a condolence visit to the deceased wife and the children and prayed for the repose of the soul of the late professor.
In the same vein, Team Lead of Platforms Africa, Adeola Yusuf, has announced plans by the media group to collate and publish tributes written by acquaintances and ex-students of the communication giant.
Adeola Yusuf, who was Oso’s PhD supervisee at LASU, declared that his medium would continue to support all efforts to immortalise the late Professor.
