The news of the death of Prof. Muraino Olayiwola Oso came as a big blow to us at Covenant University. It is still a very bitter pill to swallow, and we are yet to recover from the rude shock.
Prof. Lai Oso and I spoke last week on Thursday. He was very excited when I broke the news of a breakthrough I had that was long overdue. He had stood by me all through my waiting period, assuring me all would go well. He had been very supportive since I assumed office as the Head of Department.

I have had opportunities to celebrate Prof. Lai Oso and showered him with encomiums while he was still alive, but I wish I had done more! However, I am glad I did. It would have been more painful and saddening if I had not! Even in death, he deserves to be celebrated.
