Mali Drops French As Official Language

MALI has made a groundbreaking decision to drop French as its official language with the adoption of a new constitution. The constitution was overwhelmingly passed with 96.91 percent of the vote in a June 18 referendum, bringing about significant changes in the country’s linguistic landscape. The Ondo Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has disclosed that eight people lost their lives in the petrol tanker fire that occurred along the Benin-Ore-Sagamu Expressway on Sunday.
