Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was given a hero’s welcome by players and officials of Chippa United following his exploits at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Nigerian featured in all games as the Super Eagles got to the final of the AFCON, losing only to hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
Nwabali saved two penalties in Nigeria’s win over South Africa in the semi-final of the competition, earning him rave reviews.

Since the tournament, encomiums have continued to pour in for the player. Upon his return to his club side on Tuesday, players and officials gave Nwabali a rousing welcome.
