Palliatives: Two Nasarawa Varsity Students Die In Stampede

A stampede at the convocation square of Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) has claimed the lives of at least two students.

It was gathered that the authorities had asked the students to go to the convocation square for the distribution of palliatives.

The state government had recently flagged off the distribution of 2 bags of 7.5 kg of rice and ₦5,000 each as palliative to students of the state in tertiary institutions.

However, on Friday morning, the distribution of the rice bags to the beneficiaries at NSUK took a different turn when the area turned raucous, forcing students to barge into the distribution area and begin carting away as many bags as their hands could carry.
