The former Minister of Science and Technology under President Muhammadu Buhari and the first civilian governor of Abia state, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, is dead.
Platforms Africa gathered from sources close to his family that Onu died on Thursday in Abuja after spending three weeks in an undisclosed hospital.
“He has been sick and hospitalised for twmhree weeks now. Despite this, his death was so shocking because no one knew it would end this way. The family, friends and acquaintances tried. If it is money that saves life, we wouldn’t have lost him,” the source said.
Meanwhile, official statement from his family has not been released as at the time of filing this report.
