The Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) has revealed that the association’s members in Apapa and other locations in Lagos are currently taking delivery of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) from 8 vessels this week, totaling over 300 million liters – well above the normal levels.
He has emphatically assured that the ongoing fuel scarcity and queues in Nigeria will not last more than two weeks, contrary to speculations, and has assured the public that there is an
adequate supply of the product.

The members of MEMAN include 11 Pl, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail.
In a bid to address the widespread frustration and challenges faced by Nigerians amidst the fuel scarcity crisis, Stokman, Managing Director of NNPC Retail Ltd, further disclosed that the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and other crucial stakeholders in the supply chain are actively collaborating to swiftly resolve the situation.
He said, “Our top priority is to restore stability and ensure that fuel supplies reach all depots and retail outlets across Nigeria promptly.
“While the current situation has been challenging, we want to reassure the public that there is an adequate supply of PMS available.
“Our members in Apapa and other locations in Lagos are taking the product from 8 vessels this week with over 300 million litres of PMS, well above our normal levels” Stokman said.

The MEMAN Chairman therefore empasised that the leadership of association is actively coordinating with member companies through swaps and other supply arrangements to ensure member stations remain stocked.
According to him, MEMAN depots will extend their loading times to ensure we load out as much as we can including tomorrow the 1st of May 2024.
He said, “Our partners in NARTO & PTD have assured us of their support in ensuring the product gets to the retail outlets safely and quickly.
“We also will extend the opening times of selected retail outlets to ensure we can service our customers as long and as safely as possible,”MEMAN Chairman said.
Stokman therefore emphasised that the independent marketers (depots & stations) are being allocated additional petrol to alleviate the situation.
The MEMAN Chairman also promised that the supply situation wll improve in the coming days as supply chains adjust and stabilize.
