Among those appointed are notable figures such as Chief Bisi Akande, Wole Olanipekun, Isa Yuguda, Yayale Ahmed, and Joy Emordi, who will serve as chairpersons of the governing councils of the University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, National Open University of Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri, respectively.

The appointment of governing council members is a significant development in the education sector, as it comes at a time when the sector is facing numerous challenges, including funding, infrastructure, and staffing issues.

The Ministry of Education has congratulated the appointees and expressed its confidence in their ability to contribute to the growth and development of the education sector.
The full list of appointees has been published on the Ministry’s website and is available for public scrutiny.
