Police in Delta have arrested a General Overseer (GO) and founder of a new generation church simply identified as Bishop Godfrey, following his failed alleged attempt to kidnap a fellow bishop in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of the State.
Police were also said to have recovered three Army uniforms at the GO’s residence during a search.
No fewer than 20 Sim cards were also allegedly recovered from the house.
The General Overseer was arrested alongside his wife, an assistant pastor, elders and other church members, who are currently being held at the Ughelli Police A’ Division.

The General Overseer running his church located in Agbarho, was said to have been traced to a hideout he had escaped to after he got information that his wife and others had been arrested.
Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Edafe Bright confirmed the arrest of the clergyman.
He disclosed that investigation was already being conducted into the incident.
