More details have emerged on the death of the Senator representing Anambra South in the National Assembly, Ifeanyi Ubah.
Ubah, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, died in an hospital in the United Kingdom (UK).
The oil mogul who, according to Platforms Africa, came to national limelight through his partnership with NNPC for N50 per litre kerosene intervention in the early 2000s, had escaped assassination that led to the killing of five of his aides.

Meanwhile, a staff of the Capital Oil Jetty, company of the late oil mogul, gave further details on the last hours of the late founder.
“The chairman departed Nigeria for the UK looking healthy. After a few days in London, he went to the UK hospital by himself for an operation but never make it out alive,” the staff said after his anonymity was assured. .
He would have been 53 on September 3. He died 35 days to his next birthday.
Yemi Adaramodu, Senate spokesperson, confirmed Ubah’s death on Saturday.
He said, “It’s confirmed, but I am sending an official statement soon.”

Ubah, was re-elected into the 10th Senate under the Young Peoples Party but had defected to the All Progressive Congress last year.
In September 2022, Ubah escaped assassination when he was attacked by gunmen on his way to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State.
His convoy was shot at, and at least five persons, including two policemen, were killed.
He survived as the vehicle he was riding in was bulletproof.
