The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 58-year-old man who reportedly died after embarking on a 19-day fast.
The tragic incident occurred in the Alagbado area of Lagos on Monday morning.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, stating that the deceased’s younger brother reported the matter to the Alagbado Police Division at around 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

According to Hundeyin, the younger brother revealed that his sibling had been undergoing a 19-day dry fast when he passed away. “No foul play is suspected, and the family has requested to convey the corpse for burial,” Hundeyin added.
The police have not released the names of the deceased or his brother at the time of filing this report.
