The Senator representing Lagos West District, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule, has declared plans to roll out 1000 forms for skills acquisition training before the end of August 2024.
Platforms Africa reports that the vocational skills include leather work, confessionary, fashion designing, barbing, and hairdressing.
Adebule made this known on Thursday during the Lagos-West Senatorial district stakeholders engagement forum at the Lagos West Constituency Office, Ikeja.
She maintained that the focus is to train one thousand (1000) constituent youths in Lagos-West to be proficient in the listed vocational skills before the end of 2024.
She further said that plans are at an advanced stage to lobby and attract bigger projects in various communities in Lagos-West.

“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, I am happy to inform you that on or before the end of August, 2024, my office will begin the distribution of 1000 forms for skills acquisition training in five (5) skills areas namely; Leather work, Confessionary, Fashion Designing, Barbing, and Hairdressing.
“Our focus is to train one thousand (1000) constituent youths in Lagos-West to be proficient in the listed vocational skills before the end of 2024. On completion of the training, the beneficiaries will be supported with starter-packs to make their introduction to the league of employers of labour seamless.
“Dear leaders, Ladies and gentlemen, you have heard directly from me the various projects and intervention programmes that I have so far implemented and also those that have been slated for implementation within the 2024 budget cycle, all of which are geared towards the improvement of the lives of our constituents. Meanwhile, plans are at an advanced stage to lobby and attract more and bigger projects to our various communities in Lagos-West. All I seek from you is patience, understanding, and moral support. I am confident that working along with you and our people at the grassroots, we would do more and enhance the living standard of our constituents,” she said.
