Manchester United claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton in an action-packed Premier League clash, with goals from Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford, and Alejandro Garnacho sealing the points.
The drama began in the 31st minute when Diogo Dalot clumsily fouled a Southampton player inside the box, leading referee Stuart Attwell to award the hosts a penalty.
Cameron Archer stepped up to take the spot kick, but his low effort was expertly saved by United goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Archer tried to make amends with a follow-up header, but Onana denied him once again with a stunning reflex save.
United took the lead just minutes later when Matthijs de Ligt met a pinpoint cross inside the box, sending a powerful header into the left corner in the 35th minute.
The visitors doubled their advantage in the 41st minute, as Marcus Rashford latched onto a precise pass and calmly finished into the right side of the net after being denied just seconds earlier by a brilliant Aaron Ramsdale save.

Southampton’s hopes of a comeback were dealt a severe blow in the 79th minute when Jack Stephens was shown a controversial red card for a late tackle. Down to 10 men, the Saints struggled to keep up with United’s attack.
Alejandro Garnacho put the game beyond doubt in stoppage time, firing an unstoppable shot into the top right corner after a clever pass from Dalot.
