Tears, Tributes As Nahimah Ajikanle-Nurudeen Is Buried In Lagos

Tears flowed freely on Saturday as the corpse of the Daily Trust former journalist, late Nahimah Ajikanle-Nurudeen was buried in Lagos.

Platforms Africa reports that the event witnessed by many Islamic clerics, old and new friends and colleagues of the deceased, was also highlighted by glowing tributes penned for the “Sun that set at noon.”

Ajikanle-Nurudeen died on Friday after a protracted illness, Platforms Africa earlier reported.

The burial event, which started with a Janazah prayer at the The Companion Mosque, Agric, Ikorodu, got to the apogee with interment at the Equitable Magbara Phase 1; Igbe LAARA.

Meanwhile, her son, told Platforms Africa that his mum left to her Lord.

“My name is ABD RASAQ and It’s sadly to tell you this but my mum has left to her lord yesterday,” he said in a message to Platforms Africa.

Friends and colleagues have also been penning glowing tributes for the “lovely lady who was always at hand to provide help to anyone she comes across.”

Hameedah Balogun Sade wrote; “My sister fought to the last hour, one in a million resilient women. I love her so very much.I never believe she could leave our parents behind.”

Corporate communication expert, Okay Onyia added; “I’m devastated over this news. I had the privilege of knowing Alhaja. And she was very helpful in the course of my career. Heaven has gained a brilliant soul. My condolences to her family. May her gentle soul rest in peace”

His view was corroborated by Public Relations expert, Chido Nwakanma who said; “Such a sad news. She was courteous and hardworking. Travel well on the other side, Nahimah Ajikanle Nurudeen.”

Kunle Azeez added; “Inna Lillah Wa Inna Ileyi Rojihoon… It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alhaja Nahimah Ajikanle Nurudeen, a devout believer, humanist and rare gem in the journalism field. She was Publisher of APNews Nigeria, an online news platform.

“Earlier today (October 11, 2024), her husband confirmed her demise in the course of my routine checkup on her to know about her general recovery.”

“May Almighty Allah cleanse her of all her shortcomings, light up her grave and accept her return as one of the dwellers of the Aljanat Firdaoz🤲”
