The monarch earned respect nationally and internationally. He co-founded the National Forum of Traditional Rulers and the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers, promoting national development and cooperation. Following this, former President Olusegun Obasanjo appointed him the first National Royal Ambassador for the Southeast.

As a mark respect, eminent Nigerians will attend his four-day funeral rites, honoring his remarkable life and legacy.

The funeral committee’s chairman, Senator Emma Nwaka, along with the secretary, Dr. Onyinye Rufus-Obi (Omekannaya), announced that the four-day funeral rite has been organised to honour the prominent and respected monarch.
