Property Destroyed As Fire Guts Deeper Life Church

The popular Odenigbo Nsukka Deeper Life church has been razed down by a fire incident that broke out around 1 pm on December 28, 2024 in the university town of Nsukka.

Vanguard gathered that residents of the area were thrown into confusion as to what may have caused the inferno as shops close to the Deeper Life church were burnt to ashes over the fire incident.

When Vanguard visited the scene of the incident, many shops were burnt but it took the intervention of Wilson Fire Service, a private fire service station to control the raging fire.

Vanguard reports that a team of Policemen were on hand to assist in putting out the raging fire, as owners of affected shops and kiosks wailed profusely while gathering the remains of their wares and goods saved from the raging fire.

Some of the victims who managed to utter a word under conditions of anonymity said that the root cause of the fire incident couldn’t be ascertained, saying that over 10 shops, including a motorcycle mechanic in front of the Deeper Life church and other shops were burnt down.

Another victim of the inferno said that the intervention of Wilson Agbo (aka Son of Paddy) fire fighting equipment controlled the raging fire to a manageable point while properties of the church and other properties running into several millions of naira were destroyed.

Vanguard reports that there was no casualty of the fire outbreak in the University of Nsukka over the incident but not even a single property of the church was picked out of the fire outbreak.

Efforts made to speak with Enugu State Fire Service at Nsukka and Nsukka local government council chairman Chinedu Asogwa were unsuccessful.

As of the time of filling this report, the root cause of the fire outbreak could not be ascertained as some people said it was a power surge that allegedly triggered the inferno.
