Tinubu Nominates Usoro Akpabio As SSDC MD, Nwuche As Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has nominated Madam Usoro Offiong Akpabio, a prominent politician and strategist from Akwa Ibom State, as the Managing Director of the newly established South South Development Commission (SSDC).

Also nominated is former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche from Rivers State, who will serve as Chairman of the Commission.

The President’s request for confirmation of the appointments was contained in a letter addressed to the Senate and read during Thursday’s plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In the letter, Tinubu also sought the Senate’s approval for the appointment of 16 other nominees as board members of the Commission, which will have its headquarters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
