The Crescent University Abeokuta has promoted Mr. Idris Kolawole Katib to the rank of a Principal Assistant Registrar in charge of Public Relations.
This is contained in a Letter signed by the Registrar, Barr. Zakariya Ademola Ajibola.
The letter dated 13th May, 2025 read; “I am pleased to inform you that the Appointments and Promotions Committee for Non-academic staff at its meeting held on the 20th February,2025 approved your promotion to Principal Assistant Registrar
“On behalf of the Vice Chancellor and the Governing Council, I congratulate you on this well deserved elevation and hope you will continue to serve the university to the best of your ability” the letter concluded.

4. Before joining Crescent University, Katib was media manager in Outdoor,relationship manager in Healthcare & reputation at various times. He was proactively engaged in 2010 to set up the PR department of the prestigious Crescent University which he has headed for over 15 years. He has employed his communication acumen to turn brand challenges into opportunities. Result-driven in project management & media convergence,he has added much value to PR. Idris foresees crises and productively precludes them through stakeholders’ engagement and media management.

Idris is a tireless writer and wordsmith with over 500 professional online articles and two (online) academic publications in communication, PR, journalism, advertising, branding, publishing, speechwriting, book review, award-winning, healthcare, music and allied areas.
