Barely 24 hours after a ceasefire between Israel and Iran was brokered by US President Donald Trump, it appears the ceasefire has collapsed.
According to Aljazeera, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said he had ordered the military to strike Tehran.
He accuses Iran of firing missiles in violation of a ceasefire agreed to after 12 days of war.
Katz said the military to “continue high-intensity operations targeting regime assets and terror infrastructure in Tehran” in light of “Iran’s blatant violation of the ceasefire declared by the President of the United States.”
Responding however, Iran’s ISNA student news agency said reports that Iran had fired missiles at Israel after the ceasefire took effect were false, REUTERS reports.

Israel earlier agreed to Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire with Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement, after Trump said the truce is now in effect and urged both sides not to violate it.
The announcements came after Iran launched several volleys of missiles at Israel, killing at least four people in the southern city of Beersheba.
Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said there’s no agreement on a ceasefire with Israel, but that Tehran will halt attacks if Israel stops its “illegal aggression” by 4am local time (00:30 GMT).
Iran also fired a salvo of missiles at a military base in Qatar that houses American troops on Monday evening, in retaliation for the US’s attacks on its nuclear sites a day earlier.
