NDLEA Drug Bust exposes massive smuggling: 80-year-old woman, Chinese man arrested. Drugs hidden in moimoi sachets and canned food in nationwide crackdown

NDLEA Drug Bust operations have unveiled a deeply concerning drug smuggling network, with arrests spanning multiple states and exposing audacious concealment tactics.

In a powerful sweep, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arrested a Chinese businessman, Liang Tak You, and 80-year-old Grace Ekpeme.

Tak You, a Malaysian-based national, was nabbed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport with 26.1kg of Canadian Loud, concealed in two suitcases from Bangkok.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Ekpeme was arrested in Calabar, with over 3kg of skunk, shocking investigators due to her age.

Another massive seizure on the Epe–Ajah Expressway saw 21.7kg of Colorado smuggled in moimoi sachets. In Apapa Port, 101kg of Loud was found packed in imported food tins.

From Lagos to Borno, and Ondo to Kogi, NDLEA officers intercepted drugs hidden in everything from garri to scent leaves, arresting suspects like Kindness Bala, Binta Usman, and the Ozirinye brothers.

Chairman Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.) praised agents for balancing supply crackdown with the War Against Drug Abuse awareness campaign across schools and communities.
