Mr. Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, said the visit could be a game-changer in accelerating Nigeria’s development.

The President is expected in Brasilia on Monday for a two-day visit at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

“This is the third visit of President Tinubu to Brazil, and it reflects a renewed and focused effort to build lasting economic integration between our countries,” Dare explained.

The journey started 21 years ago under President Olusegun Obasanjo and has gained fresh momentum under President Tinubu.”

The two nations share commonalities in demography, economy, and culture, which makes this visit particularly timely.

Brazil’s global leadership in mechanized agriculture, agribusiness, and renewable energy offers valuable lessons for Nigeria’s own efforts to expand its livestock and agricultural sectors.

“Brazil has a cattle herd of 238 million, even more than its human population. This success offers lessons as we expand our livestock industry,” said Dare.

Unlike previous visits focused mainly on international summits like G20 and BRICS, this trip is a formal state visit aimed at transforming historic ties into concrete bilateral agreements.

The visit will seek to open up investments and cooperation in aviation, livestock, trade, and other strategic sectors.

President Tinubu’s Brazil visit is the second leg of his ongoing two-nation tour, which began with his participation in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Japan.
