A 17-year-old girl has alleged that she was raped inside Ogudu Police Station in Lagos State. The suspect, a police officer, had promised to help the teenager retrieve her stolen phone. Instead, he locked her in his office, threatened her with a gun, and raped her.
The victim’s mother, Mrs. Aramide Olupona, has accused the police of trying to cover up the allegation. She said, “The suspect’s wife and family have come to my shop to plead with me, but what about my daughter who was raped? The Area Commander invited me and pleaded with me to bury the case, but my daughter needs justice.”

The police have claimed that the suspect has fled and his whereabouts are unknown. However, the victim’s mother has called for justice, saying, “My girl is distraught and has said she wants to commit suicide. I want the police to take action and bring the perpetrator to book.”
