The ‘Advocate for Good Governance in Nigeria’ (AFGIN), a non-governmental organization based in Abuja on Thursday, February 13, 2025 presented a ‘Distinguished Leadership Honour’ award to HRM Oba, (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, the Elegboro of Ijebu-jesa, Osun state.
Platforms Africa reports that AFGIN an initiative inspired by the numerous accounts of citizens on government negligence and incompetence was established in 2018 to enhance democratic process and good governance in Nigeria.
Stating Oba Agunsoye’s notable contributions to human development, community building, job creation and capacity enhancement; AFGIN through the Director of programmes, Dr. Ojomah Monday stated further that the King’s good work has been brought to their attention thus the long walk to ijebu-ijesa to honor him.

This is coming barely six months after the monarch was awarded the “AKONI KUNRIN, YORUBA MAN OF THE YEAR 2024 by the Yoruba Heritage Leadership International Platform at the Palace of the Ooni of Ife, Osun State.
Thanking the organization after he was given the ‘Certificate of Noble Prize for Excellence’, Oba Agunsoye said he is not impacting to gain popularity but trying his best in service to humanity. Having being faced with losing his father at an early age, he understood how many may find it very difficult to make it in life thus he will continue in his passion to help humanity.
Gracing the ceremony which lasted for more than hour were his noble chiefs, Pensioners in his state, the Palace Staff, Staff from AFGIN and of course the monarch’s Queen, his ‘Ulaala’, Olori Omolara Temitayo Agunsoye.
The programme ended with participants pouring encomium for Oba Agunsoye praying that his reign be long.
