. ‘No one ever saw this before’ what you hitherto do not know about the creature found in Solomon Island
Recently, the world’s largest coral reef has been discovered in the Solomon Islands, an organism that has been in that location for hundreds of years.
This living being is located off the island of Malaulalo, belonging to the aforementioned archipelago and its scientific name is Pavona clavus.
The most extraordinary thing of all are its figures, since it measures 34 meters wide, 32 meters long and 5.5 meters high, which means that it is 12 meters larger than the previous coral record that was in American Samoa.

This discovery was made by National Geographic’s Pristine Seas expedition, with cameraman Manu San Felix accidentally stumbling upon the coral while exploring a shipwreck.
“It’s amazing to see something so large and so old – about 300 years old – recovering despite such significant changes in the environment,” said San Felix, who explained that this organism is unique, formed by millions of tiny polyps.
