President of the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria, Sheikh Abdur Rasheed Hadiyyatullah Iwo, is dead.
Platforms Africa reports that Hadiyyatullah Iwo was also until his death, the Director of Sheikh Ibn Baz Shariah College of Nigeria.
A statement from the college obtained by Platforms Africa, which confirmed the news, added that the respected Islamic scholar would be buried by 2 PM at the Shariah College, Iwo.

The statement reads; Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un
“We announce with deep sadness the passing of Sheikh Abdur Rasheed Hadiyyatullah Iwo, President of the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria and Director of Sheikh Ibn Baz Shariah College of Nigeria. Sheikh Abdur Rasheed was a respected Islamic scholar.
“He dedicated his life to the service of Islam, dawah teaching, guiding with sincerity and wisdom. His knowledge, humility, devotion and generosity will be greatly missed.
“We ask Allah (SWT) to forgive him, have mercy upon him, grant him jannatul firdaws and grant the fortitude to bear the passing. InshaAllah, the Janazah prayer will be performed at 2 PM at the Shariah College, Iwo.
“Jazaakumullah khairan.”
