Lagos NUJ Prominent Female Member, Adeola Lawal – Ashiru, is Dead

Lagos NUJ Chairman, colleagues mourn, give details of how ex-Chairman, Lagos Ministry of information chapel, Lawal-Ashru, died few hours ago

 

The Lagos council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has lost another prominent female member, Adeola Lawal – Ashiru.

Platforms  Africa reports that Lawal-Ashiru’s colleague, Mr. Tunde Olalere, who announced her death on WhatsApp group of NUJ, Lagos, added that she died on Tuesday morning.

“The family of our dear colleague, sister and friend announces the death of Mrs. Deola Lawal – Ashiru, former Chairman, Information Chapel, who passed on in the early hours of Tuesday 4th, January 2022,’ Olalere wrote according to a report by Platforms Africa, adding; “May God grant her aljanah firdaus. (Amen)”

Meanwhile, chairman Lagos NUJ, Adeleye Ajayi, and other journalists have mourned the death of ex-Chairman, information chapel, Lawal-Ashoru, who died few hours ago.

“This is very sad. I pray that God will comfort the family and friends of the deceased, especially staff of the State Ministry of Information and Strategy. May her soul rests in peace,” Ajayi wrote in an update sighted by Platforms Africa.

Corroborating Ajayi’s view, Ray Ugochukwu, another journalist, siad; “Very sad indeed! May God grant her soul eternal repose!!”
