Ahead of 2027 politics, politicians have been making moves suspected to be in line with strategising for the presidency. In one of such suspected moves, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar visited his former principal, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, in Abeokuta, the state capital, on Monday.
Atiku, who contested the 2023 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arrived at the sprawling Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta around 12:36 p.m. and quickly went to the Penthouse arm of the facility to meet his host, Obasanjo, who was waiting for him for a closed-door meeting.
Atiku was accompanied by Abdul Ningi, Bauchi state Senator, former governor of Cross River State, Liyel Imoke and his Sokoto State counterpart, Aminu Tambuwal. On arrival, Atiku alongside members of his entourage were received at the Obasanjo’s residence by the elder statesman, Oyewole Fasawe, before they all went straight into a private meeting with Obasanjo.

Atiku is believed to be nursing 2027 presidential ambition. Since 2007, he has been running for the office either as aspirant or candidate, without success.
